Ariel

Ariel was inspired by a sketch of a tiny double-ended ketch with an aft cockpit that my dad drew in 1945. I loved the concept, but the hull seemed to cry “schooner” more than “ketch.” So, a schooner she became.

Suited for day-sailing, or minimalist cruising (I envisage a boom tent on the foremast, keeping bedding in the “hold” while not in use.)

LOA including bowsprit: 30’-6”
Length on Deck: 24’-3”
LWL: 22’-9½”
BWL: 6’-4”
Displacement: 5,400 lbs
Sail Area: 370 sq.ft
